GET BUSY: COLLAR ACCESSORY
Hi f.arcs!!!
how's your week going?
So it’s been a busy week, and by GOD’s grace I should be in camp early next week.
I asked myself the best way to keep you guys from not missing me and I decided to do a lot of GETBUSY POSTS which would gradually be posted every week, don’t yet know how many per week though…
Yesterday I went out with my mum to get some things for my service and goshhh!!!! The traffic + rain back home was sick but all in all I had fun with my mum…she loves to munch which makes us sooo good together... (I love IJEKUJE (JUNKS) and so does she..)
I know a lot of you sometime look for ways to accessorize your shirt and some people would go for wearing pearls or neckpieces but then what if you don’t own any of these things, or what if where you are going is not soo formal or JISH JISH (important)... to that extent
Here is the way I styled two shirts, one vintage to help our customers know it can work and the other an L.O.GG shirt….
This GET BUSY d.i.y is tested and trusted as I wore it throughout the day and it was still very much intact when I got home, my activites included taking a bike, struggling to enter marwa (tricycle), entering bus, walking in the rain, biking in the rain and all….
What you need
- A small piece of chain ( can be gotten from key holders, or chain bags or even belts or long chains)
- A pair of Earrings (preferably the one with hook)
GET BUSY
- Make sure the chain is long enough to drop in the middle by measuring it with the distance between the edge of both collars
- If it’s a dangling earring, attach the chain to the chain on both earring but if it’s a normal clip on earring, pass the chain through the finding (the hook part that goes through the ear)
- Then wear your shirt and hook it throw the collar on both sides,
- Please note that you can double the chain
- put the stopper
- TADA!!! You have successfully gotten busy and done something amazing in less than 5mins…
- If the finding is too long and keeps poking you, you can get a wore cutter or scissors and cut it shorter
- This GET BUSY diy works on all kinds of collars…
.....i heard this pose should be like a signature thing for me, YES! it should i love blowing kisses!!!
muah...
That’s all folks…

AFRO Bohemian fever
Hi f.arcs!!!
Yes! I have finally caught this fever, and I’m loving it so badly.
It’s been a good week, starting with the fact that I don’t have to comb my hair…looolzzz
If you know me you would know I am not a fan of hair…yep I change my hair but hmmmn….combing lets just say it’s not one of my strongest *fashion* points….
I was inspired by a couple of people who have also caught this fever (pictures below)…it’s so funny that since I wanted to make this hair in 2007 I just got around to doing it now..
my inspirations....
.....found these pictures of me from last year..the closest have come to the afro

F.SPOTLIGHT: quote of the day!!! Alexander McQueen
hi F.ARCS!!!
Is someone still awake???? can someone hear me????
ohhh...sorry you can!!! (loolz...i think I'm sleep blogging)
I was looking for the right quote for our blog description, then i came across this...doesn't fit what i am searching for but its worth sharing....
i love this picture so much..i want to mimic it....all i can say is this, MINIMALISM at its best!!! |
I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern - wearing head-to-toe designer has become a bit passe. It's a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It's all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together.
Alexander McQueen
searched for more alexander mcqueen quotes and i found these....
“I get my ideas out of my dreams… if you're lucky enough to use something you see in a dream, it is purely original. It's not in the world — it's in your head. I think that is amazing.”
― Alexander McQueen
British fashion is self confident and fearless. It refuses to bow to commerce, thus generating a constant flow of new ideas whilst drawing in British heritage.
Alexander McQueen
Clothes and jewellery should be startling, individual. When you see a woman in my clothes, you want to know more about them. To me, that is what distinguishes good designers from bad designers.
Alexander McQueen
“There is no better designer than nature.”
― Alexander McQueen
“There is no way back for me now. I am going to take you on journeys you've never dreamed were possible.”
― Alexander McQueen
“For me, what I do is an artistic expression which is channeled through me. Fashion is just the medium.”
― Alexander McQueen
“I find beauty in the grotesque, like most artists. I have to force people to look at things.”
― Alexander McQueen
“I want to be the purveyor of a certain silhouette or a way of cutting, so that when I am dead and gone people will know that the twenty-first century was started by Alexander McQueen.”
― Alexander McQueen
a brief bio:
Alexander McQueenOn March 17 1969, Alexander McQueen, a name well recognized today, was born into a relatively nameless and financially unstable family. However, unknown to the McQueens, this date marked much more than the birth of a new child, it was the beginning of what would be one of the worlds most revolutionary couturiers of the 21st century. At an early age, Alexander showed glimpses of design talent that foreshadowed his short-lived, but never forgotten, career. Because the McQueen’s seemingly royal name was not reflected in their bank accounts, Alexander began to dress his sisters himself, using the fundamental skills he learned at Carpenters Road Primary School. It was during this time period that he announced his intention to take his dress making talents outside of the family- he was ready to dress the world.
McQueen’s path towards success started with his apprenticeships at Savile Row, Anderson & Sheppard and Gieves & Hawks where he learned how to master impeccably tailored looks. At Savile, Alexander gained top tier clients such as Mikhail Gorbachev and Prince Charles, which put him on the map. Although McQueen was a designer that understood the importance of learning the basics of cut and proportion, there was nothing expected or safe about his design aesthetic. He leveraged his meticulous cutting and sewing skills as a platform to allow the manifestations of his dark, theatrical, and unique creations. At the age of 20, the already somewhat established McQueen traveled to Milan, Italy, where he worked for Romeo Gigli.
After McQueen’s time with Gigli, he traveled back to London and enrolled at Central Saint Martin’s where he completed his masters in Fashion Design. It was after this seemingly beneficial education that McQueen showcased his own line in 1992. Since then, the bold designer has brought striking and somewhat mysteriously vivid collections to the catwalk. His keen eye for proper tailoring has immensely impacted the way his designs look on and off of the runway, leading his reputation to develop at an extremely fast pace. It only took 10 years for him to become one of the most respected designers in the world, as well as one of the youngest to achieve the title “British Designer of the Year.”
In 1996, McQueen was appointed head designer of Givenchy, replacing John Galliano. During his time there, his designs were toned down and he eventually left the company. After splitting from Givenchy and his unexpressive phase, McQueen found his spirit once again. Free from the stricter and more traditional guidelines his previous work held him from, McQueen went on to design one of his most powerful and extravagant collections. In December 2000, 51 percent of McQueen was bought out by Givenchy’s rival, the Gucci Group.
McQueen’s work continues to be an inspiration for designers everywhere. His extravagant and bold designs showcase how clothing is an art form, which continues to carry on after his death. His successor, Sarah Burton, designed arguably the most famous McQueen gown to date, Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.
